About
I graduated from UC Berkeley with double majors in Economics and Data Science. My greatest joy is when a student says "Oh WOW! I get it now!" I have 3+ years of experience tutoring students in topics ranging from algebra to calculus and intro economics to advanced economic topics.
I believe each student is unique and have their own pace. During our first session, I will spend some time to get to know the student better, so I can tailor my approach according to each student's need and learning style. I hope the student can walk away from the tutoring session not only with finished homework or well-prepared for an upcoming test, but a deeper understanding of the concepts they struggled with coming into the tutoring session.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will first talk to the student to understand what they need help with (e.g. homework help, test prep, improvement, etc) and understand their learning style. I will then tailor my teaching approach to the student's need, learning style and ability. Before our first tutoring session, I will ask the student to send me the textbook and any relevant material they need help with. I will review these material prior to our session so we can get started as soon as we meet. I prefer to meet with the student over Zoom and will share my iPad as a whiteboard throughout the session. At the end of the tutoring session, I will send the student the PDF file of the whiteboard writings for them to review.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a straight A student all throughout high school and I graduated from UC Berkeley with bachelors degree in Economics and Data Science with concentration in Business Analytics. I have a strong background in economics, statistics, programming (Python), and data science (machine learning, data analysis, etc).
I'm also a native Chinese speaker who grew up in the United States. I can speak Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, and English fluently, as well as read and write the two languages proficiently. I occassionally tutor Chinese students English and vice versa.
