I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years and teaching for 3. Absolute beginners a specialty! My emphasis is on chords, progressions, and songs. Beginning with 5 basic chords we'll begin building towards being able to play complete songs. As each students skills progress, new challenges will be added to keep their horizons always expanding.

I love breaking down a complex creative task into its individual parts. It can seem like it's out of reach. But little by little, with skills the student already knows and a few they pick up on the way, they can begin a fulfilling musical adventure on guitar (and eventually other instruments). Seeing the lightbulb go on when they begin to 'get' something they previously struggled with: gold.
