Bert Howard

Bert is a great tutor! We hired Bert to help my 7th grader get caught up in his math, Bert made it easy to understand and my son looks forward to his tutoring sessions! My son is definitely more confident in his ability to complete his math assignments! Than you Bert!

He is extremely patient! He works well with students who display math anxiety and have had a history of performing poorly in math. Bert affirms and encourages them while patiently tutoring them.

Bert is an outstanding teacher. Her grandson has had him for a tutor over the last 2 years. Proud to say he is getting straight As in math! Five stars for Bert!

Mr. Bert Howard is a wonderful man. I have known him since I was a little girl at the age of seven. I went to a private grade and middle school, which means teachers there are very strict as to how a student performs. He was the tutor that always got me through learning long division and my times tables. Mr. Bert made me realize that algebra, geometry, and trigonometry were not my enemy and that they could be conquered. I was a horrible test-taker by the way. Now this is very difficult for me to divulge, but I was not particularly a straight-A student. I had a difficult time due to my mental disability and my medication would give me side effects of confusion and short-term memory loss. Not only was Mr. Howard my tutor, but he was my mentor and advisor. When I did horribly on an exam, for not having enough time to complete it, I really wanted to give up. But he told me never give up, always finish what you start. He would also say if you truly want something, go and get it. You just have to really want it. He is one of the people that helped me through high school in order to get into the university I wanted to go to. He is also one of the people who helped shape the person I am today. Due to Mr. Howards patience all these years, I have now earned my Bachelors Degree in Biology. I am currently working on my Masters Degree. One day my true dream is to go to Harvard and pursue my Ph.D. in Genetics. Overall, I would like to give Mr. Howard ten stars for helping me all throughout my life. He is the one person I can trust whenever I have a problem. Thank you Mr. Bert for being a great mentor!

Bert Howard is an intelligent, friendly, and understanding person. I have known Bert Howard since I was about 7 or 8. I am now 24 years old and still call him Mr. Bert! He tutored me for over 12 years. Not only was he my tutor and mentor, he became a dear family friend. Before I met Bert, I was not the best student. My grades were very poor and I had a hard time focusing and understanding what was being taught in school. My parents were very concerned that I would not be able to go to the next grade. The were starting to give up on being able to find someone to help me improve academically. They took me to Sylvan, Kumon, and many other tutors. However, none of them were able to help me improve in school until we found Bert Howard. With Berts patience, empathy, and determination, he was always able to find and utilize a variety of techniques to help me comprehend and actually learn math, as well as other subjects, in a way that I could understand. Whenever I started to get frustrated or wanted to give up, he would always encourage me to keep moving forward. Whenever I would lose focus and motivation, he would always find new ways, like a reward system or some sort of game to keep me interested and want to learn. I guess my point is that he never gave up on me and I am so grateful that. Because of Bert, I was able to improve academically and further my education. I have now received my B.A in Communication Disorders and Sciences and my certificate to be a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. Currently, I am trying to get into a Masters program in Speech Language Pathology. I highly recommend Bert Howard. He is an amazing tutor!
