Kate Dickinson

I retired as a full-time elementary school teacher in 2022. I've been having fun as a grandmother of toddlers, but I miss working with older kids. In my 23 years teaching I've taught almost every subject and worked with students from kindergarten to 8th grade, mostly with 3rd to 6th graders. As a teacher I was usually working with groups, but I loved every chance I had to work with students one-on-one. I love helping children understand what they're reading, regardless of subject matter, and find ways to make math make more sense to them. When in a tutoring session I like to be a supportive guide, asking the learner questions that help them find the answers themselves using whatever methods are most appropriate for each individual.
