About

I have over twenty-five years of teaching experience in the private school sector and eleven years of tutoring experience. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students in the elementary grades and specialize in the language arts, especially reading, using phonics to insure success with all types of learners. I have been very successful with students with different needs and abilities and customize instruction to fit the need of each student. I also teach math, composition, grammar, cursive, and spelling.

I find it very rewarding to take students at their current level of skill and knowledge and watch their progression and the joy that follows as we work together in their area(s) of need. Each student is unique, and I enjoy adapting to the student's learning style to achieve success.

    She is professional, Mrs. McGray has a classic approach to learning and works with your child(ren) on supporting their needs. We decided that we wanted to supplement our childs learning in the Public School system, due in part, to the lack of fundamental education and class size. Mrs. McGray has strengthened our child’s understanding of the basic foundation of writing and reading English; including grammar, sentence and paragraph structure. Hiring Mrs. McGray was and remains a great decision, our child has not struggled with exams or assignments that require reading or writing.

    Mrs. McGray tutored all three of my children for over 14 years. She is a former teacher form a very reputable private school and you can clearly see her knowledge, passion, and skill through her work. She is a wonderful tutor who made it easy for my children to learn and encouraged them to become stronger students. Two of my children have since graduated with honors from JSerra Catholic High School and are excelling in college. My third is achieving high marks at JSerra. All have commented that they feel well-prepared for high school, college, and life because of the education they received.
