About
I have been tutoring math students for 20 years, mostly as a volunteer at local elementary and middle school. I also have experience tutoring math students at the middle and high school level, especially Pre-Algebra, Algebra, and Integrated Math 1.
My goal, for every student that I tutor, is to provide complete understanding of the math process, assessment of all areas of confusion that are a byproduct of years of misperception and misunderstanding, and poor teaching. I hope all students will be able to come to feel comfortable with math ideas through understanding.
I believe every student can understand math, overcome math anxiety and learn how much fun and satisfaction there is in confidently working on, solving and truly understanding how math actually works.
I have finished a math BA for Single Subject Teaching from Western Governors University.
I am a certified Montessori teacher and taught preschool and primary students for 15 years.
I have volunteered at local elementary and middle schools within the past 10 years.
