I specialize in teaching sight reading for beginning students. I am also a vocal coach.
I hold a recital every year for my students.
I will help you choose music that will keep you interested, and enjoying yourself while learning to play the piano.
Ask about my references from students near you. I’m currently teaching in Irvine, Lake Forest, Laguna Hills and Laguna Niguel. I also teach in Huntington Beach, Westminster and Garden Grove.
I’ve been teaching kids and adult students for over 20 years. I enjoy finding songs they really enjoy playing. I have a background in Early childhood education and teaching music and Singing are my favorite things.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Determine their level of sight reading and choose between several curriculum paths to teach them to sight read. I use several different sets of books including lots of fun, leveled, song books. The student rates every song, so when we review what songs they like the best, that helps us determine what books to use as we continue.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching piano and voice lessons full time since 1999. I have taught at a Carden Academy, children’s choirs, and overseas in Kuwait at an elementary school. I have an AA as a Private Piano Teacher as well as an Early Childhood Education (elementary age) certificate from Orange Coast College 1999, and studied Music Education at Cal State Long Beach from 1986-1990.

-$5 discount Neighbor Referral/ Scheduling back to back lessons with a neighbor within a 10 min. drive applies per lesson-if one cancels and I can not fill that time, that discount is not applied.

What types of students have you worked with?
Ages 4-84. All kinda of students with different backgrounds and interests. I specialize in beginners, but have taught up through level 6 in Alfreds and Faber curriculums. I do not participate in Certificate of Merrit.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We have an annual recital at least once a year in May.
