Programming For Everyone
About
Hi! My name is Lauren and I have been tutoring students for over eight years. I have passion for computer programming and I believe anyone can learn it and use it to better their everyday lives. Computers and technology in general are so versitile that its only limits seem to be our imagination!
I graduated with a computer science degree from Villanova University and work in the IT field. I tutor in my spare time as I have a passion for helping students learn. My main areas of focus are Excel, VBA (Macros), Java, Google Sheets, JavaScript, Google Apps and Scripts, and Microsoft Project.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First discover what type of learner they are - do they like visuals and diagrams? do they like things explained in more than one way?

Focus on areas where they can improve while trying not to discourage them

I have always had a passion for teaching. Even in elementry school I would volunteer to help the younger students and teach them how to use the computers at school. I starting tutoring late in my high school years and continued through college and after my graduation.

See what areas need the most focus and ask your tutor to give you questions and projects to help you turn your weakness into a strength
