Im an observer of the Verdieu Learning Center services. The tutor, Ms. Yaz (as everyone calls her), has a good rapport with her students. She works closely with each one and exudes a nurturing and patient demeanor with them. Her students love her and respect her because she cares about them.

The best person that tutors my son and daughter.
My daughters and sons teachers are saying that they improved in writing and math
Their tutors are very attentive and friendly to working with all the kids
The other thing that makes me depend on tutoring is that she challenges the kids and gives them homework outside of the tutoring sessions
******* its been like two years and this is a Great investment!!!!******

Our tutor Yaz of Verdieu Learning Center is incredible! She is incredibly patient and engaging, using fun activities and personalized strategies to keep my girls interested and on task. When they get frustrated with Math word problems or Language Arts concepts, Yaz knows just how to gain their focus and motivate them to finish. She encourages them to think critically and find the answers themselves, but never simply gives them the answers. This hands-on approach has been incredibly effective, with their grades which has improved since starting sessions with Yaz. Middle school is definitely not easy, but thanks to Yazs help, my girls are tackling it with confidence and a newfound love for learning.

Ms. Yaz is amazing!! I hired her to help with my daughter’s middle school math struggles and she has helped her become so much more confident in her math skills. She takes the time to understand your student’s needs. She is patient and makes a connection with your student right from the very beginning. My daughter looks forward to her tutoring sessions each time. Even though I hired Ms. Yaz for math she can help with any subject. By far one of the best tutors I’ve come across in along time! Thank you Ms. Yaz!!!

Very patient and detailed when working with my son. He felt he was able to write the best essays he had ever done. This experience gave him the boost of confidence he needed after a year of zoom classes.

    Frequently asked questions

The parent contacts me first for a 15-minute free consultation. We will discuss their student's strengths and weaknesses. I will then schedule the student's first day! Not only will we go over homework assigned by the school, but we will also read a book outside of school, practice vocabulary using flashcards (repetitively), have creative writing prompts, and any other engagement for the student. I ask questions to my students because I love hearing how their thought processes their answers.

I have my bachelor's in Sociology and Criminal Justice. I have always geared myself towards English since I was a child. During college, I to wrote student's thesis papers as well as any other papers they had a hard time with. I have always tutored kids in my family as well, in any subject. I am trained to develop their study habits, besides just "giving them the answer"

My pricing is as goes: $40/hour.

I tutor students K-2 for 1 hour, and students 3rd grade and beyond for 2 hours.

I have five younger siblings. Besides babysitting, growing up I always helped them out with their homework. As I got older, I then started volunteering at after-school programs where I continued tutoring students. I took a break once I started college but once the pandemic hit I needed another source of income. So I thought to myself, "Why not do something I enjoy?"

I have worked with students from grades K-12. My students are awesome! If anything, I feel like they are teaching me at times.

The majority of my students are in elementary school. That is a great time for a student to be tutored because we will both assist with building their learning foundation. Let's not forget that teachers do not teach students how to learn (especially in their own style). Some students are not able to learn by sitting all day at a computer screen, or even class. That is the majority of the kind of students I help.

Always ask questions! Any comments or concerns as well because I am here to help. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

However I am very repetitive, and that is what it takes for a student to retain the subject. So I am okay with the frustration at times. We are here to work together. You will see a massive improvement from your student.

A student does not have to think through before asking their teachers about their needs. That will definitely make them feel overwhelmed. There is no such thing as a dumb question.
