About
Hi, I'm Bradley. I graduated from Columbia University in 2021 with my bachelor’s in operations research specializing in analytics with a minor in psychology. I am also a certified data scientist through DataCamp. I am knowledgeable in probability and optimization math and programming, but I have always been interested in anything stem related. I've been involved with cybersecurity and robotics (vex) clubs throughout high school and college.
I tutored middle and high school students throughout my college years, just helping with any homework and going over any type of problem or question they may have. I have also been involved in teaching computer science and robotics to middle schoolers. I've been tutoring some students from geometry all the way to helping with college applications. I've even tutored algebra in Spanish(Español) before.
I believe a tutor's job is to prepare students to face any variation of a math problem they encounter. I like to begin by having students go step by step as best they can with any homework problems they need help with. I like understanding where their minds are at at each point in solving the problem, before going in and reinforcing or correcting what they know. Although memorizing step by step algorithms is a good way to teach a large number of students quickly, I much prefer going in and having kids have a deeper understanding of why each step is necessary, and ultimately being able to alter steps to solve any future problems. Especially in middle school, where students are building the foundation for more complex math. Regardless of any ideology, every student learns differently, and my priority will always be to help them learn in the best way possible.
