What is your typical process for working with a new student?
During our first meeting, we will get to know eachother and identify the student’s needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a masters in special education, and worked in the Chicago Public School system for 2 school years before moving to Cali. I worked with children for 16 years prior to becoming a special educator as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at a pediatric hospital in Chicago. I have tutored many children over the years, including volunteering to tutor homeless children. I have tutored children on the autism spectrum, both verbal and non-verbal, many students who struggle with ADHD or behavior/emotional problems, and gen ed studetns who just need a little boost.

I charge 40.00 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching children and parents throughout my carrer as an RRT. I would teach about their disease, or treatment options, home therapies, etc. I always enjoyed teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
from general education students who would come to my room after school asking for help (trying to sneak into my room during day), to non verbal students who are on the autism spectrum to students with severe brain injuries. I have worked with students with many exceptionalities, both physical and mental.
