I'm a professional sports journalist and freelance writer with an extensive background in tutoring. I set up and ran an English tutoring program for my college department, which was located away from the main campus. I later tutored students in grades K-university, as well as some adults, primarily in reading comprehension, grammar, and essay writing. I also tutored ESL and assisted with composition and paper editing. One of my strengths as both a tutor and parent of a grown child is helping with study organization and planning. This lets students stay on top of assignments, keep materials handy, and manage time well. I enjoy making complex themes and concepts more accessible to students, so they truly understand their curriculum. I'm getting back into tutoring after some time away because I miss the interaction and spend too many hours just typing!
