History And English Tutoring
About
I am a college graduate in History and Philosophy who plans to apply for a Masters in Education this Fall. I aim to help my students succeed by going over their curriculum alongside them, reviewing and editing their work, and preparing them for any tests or essays that come their way. I have extensive history working with students of all ages and have taken most of the AP tests within the social sciences. As such, regardless of your goals, I am sure you will see improvements both in grades and quality of work.
The great teachers I've been lucky enough to be taught by have had transformative influences in my life. Whether it be the subject at hand or the life skills gained along the way, these educators have prepared me for where I am now. The sharing of information as well as representing a positive role model brings me joy, adding to my sense of purpose. In this relationship of teacher and student, we succed together.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Playing a supportive role in a student's educational journey, I first ask them what they are struggling with. If it is writing I may ask to see their recent work and leave detailed edits and comments. When neccesary, I will ask them to write a paper (pages vary based on level) with a focus on fixing the mistakes or weaknesses. If their issue is reading comprehension, I will ask them to show me their current readings and their responses. From here I can show them new contextual analysis skills or improve the ones they have by walking them through the text. In the case of test prep, I will teach them strategies for success such as note organization, memory retention techniques, and what to expect.
