Hi, I'm an English major with experience in literature, writing, reading, and essay creation. I have also been a writer and public speaker for 15 years.

I am, first and foremost, an expert in the written and spoken word. I have a background in literature from the ancient to the modern. I specialize in English Literature and writing. My knowledge of literature enhances my ability to help students with their own writing. I have also written thousands of pages of essays, speeches, plays, poetry, and prose myself!

All of my students should know that I keep my lessons lighthearted and fun. We take the work seriously, but ourselves...not so much!

I seek to help my reading and literature students understand, interpret, and analyze the texts they read. I focus on comprehension, critical thinking, and analysis.

For writers, I focus on correct spelling and punctuation, structure, grammar, and clarity. I also use exercises in brainstorming, mapping, and thesis development for essay writing/ plot and character techniques for creative writing.
