Math, Art, Graphic Design, And More!
About
Hi, I'm Max!
I am a professional motion graphics artist (so I use math and code expressions in my work every day) but despite having an artistic bend, I am very math-minded and have always been good with numbers. I received a 5 out of 5 on the BC AP Calculus exam, which sadly didn't get me out of any GE courses when I attended film school at USC, but at least my math knowledge hasn't gone away.
In addition to math knowledge, I also provide tutoring lessons in Animation, Fine arts, Graphic Design, After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere, Cinema4D, Spanish and Italian.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will want to look at the course material that the student has been given or whatever expertise they already have with the subject to get a sense of what their current level and desired skill level is. For younger students, I like to learn about the students themselves so I can incorporate their interests into practice problems to keep it more fun.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am not a trained teacher or mathematician. However, I am very good with math (scored perfectly on the AP BC Calculus exam as well as the math section of the SATs), and am good at explaining complex problems with my words as well as with diagrams. I am a professional motion graphics artist as well, so I use math and coding expressions in my day to day life, and am well versed at creating infographics (still or moving) that help illustrate a point.
