About
I have been tutoring for well over 20 years, working with children of all ages, skill levels, and in a variety of subjects. My first experinece as a tutor was in elementary school when I worked on reading skills with students in the lower grades. From that point forward I knew that I loved working with people and helping them achieve their goals. I worked as a tutor in high school and throughout college and beyond. I am currently a 12th year high school educator teaching a variety of Science courses. I have taught Biology, AP Biology, Honors Human Anatomy and Physiology, Earth and Space Science, in addition to the occasional Health and Math courses. My tutoring experince includes working with students k-12 and beyond. Tutoring students in Math, English, History, the Sciences, SAT and AP prep, and college level science courses. I have extensive background and knowledge in differentiating instruction, curriculum desing, and Common Core and NGSS Standards. Working with students to help them achieve their goals is a passion of mine. Watching students inprove and succeed and seeing "the light bulb go off" is truly one of the most rewarding aspects of this job.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically consult with the student and parents if necassary. Discuss their goals for working with a tutor in addition to their goals in their class. I then work with the student and their family to create a plan of action to help achieve these goals.

I have been teaching for 12 years and tutoring for over 20 years. I have a Bachelors of Science in the Biological Sciences, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Masters of Public Health.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
As a result of my extensive teaching (12yrs) and tutoring(20+ years) background and my educational background (BS in Biological Sciences, MA in Teaching, and a MPH) I generally charge between $50-$100 dollars/hour. Pricing depends on students grade level and the subject matter.
How did you get started teaching?
My interest in teaching started as a child when I first started tutoring younger students. It was then that I realized I enjoyed working with people and helping them achieve their goals.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide range of students from k-12 grade and college/university level students.
