About
I am Mexican-American, I grew up in Southern California and I had the great fortune of studying my undergraduate in Mexico. Those years really gave me a deep dive into my Hispanic culture and I was able grasp Second Language Acquisition through an intercultural lens. I speak French for over 8 years now and I have been studying Italian for over 5 years. English, of course, is my native language and I amazingly learn something new everyday.
I hope to share my passion for speaking, reading, and learning languages. I am here to say that there is joy in piecing ideas together in a new way. Although it may seem incredibly daunting and challenging, rest assured that our minds are super capable of thinking in many codes. My wish is that students are open to enjoying the intricacies of a new way of thinking and absorbing world breaking ideas. ¡El mundo esta en tus manos!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important for me to hear my students views on the subject at hand, how they learn best, what areas do they most struggle with, and most importantly what is their objective for our sessions. Each student has their own experience with learning a language and getting to know how they would like to make progress is crucial to getting started. From there, we would set up the schedule and plan. Flexibility is important, but having a set goal will keep us on track and allow us to make the most of our time!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I love sharing my academic journey because it reminds me of such a wonderful experience. I graduated from La Universidad De La Salle Bajío, Mexico with a Bachelor's in Modern Languages and Interculturalism.

I offer a general rate per hour. The rate is determined by factors such as: format delivery, session schedule (weekday/weekend), and the level and depth of the program content.
How did you get started teaching?
Interestingly, when I was in primary school I used to pretend I was a teacher. I would have a desk, a list of all the students that were in my class, and I would assign homework (lol). Fast forward to my University years where I was introduced to languages and when my interest to learn and help others learn a different way of expressing themselves emerged.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have experience teaching middle school and high school students. I have experience teaching small groups of kids as young as 6 years old. And I have had the joy of having students that were interested in mastering their English at the age of 50.
