I have been in education for almost 30 yrs in grades preschool to high school. I started at Fresno Unified School District as a Teacher's Aide, moved to Chico Unified School District, and moved back to Fresno Unified School District where I have been a Substitute Teacher for 4 years. I have earned a BA in Liberal Studies. I am patient, flexible, and approachable. I will do all I can to help improve what is needed. I also have a great sense of humor!!!😄
I enjoy working with K-12 students. I like to see that I'm helping them understand a concept that was difficult for them to grasp. The lesson planning is also fun. The relief on their faces is priceless. I remember being a young student and wishing I had more support...

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will introduce myself and let students know that I have taught before and they can feel free to ask me any questions they have.
Then, I would ask them what they need help with, what grades are they getting, and get an assessment from work they've done. Based on the assessment and what the student /parent tells me, I will plan a lesson or series of lessons to meet the student's needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA degree in Liberal Studies, and passed the CBEST Test. I have been an Instructional Aide and I am now a Substitute Teacher.
