About
I am a third-year undergraduate Neurobiology student at UC Davis. As a pre-medical student who performed in the 92% percentile on the MCAT, I am well-versed in the subjects I am teaching. Moreover, I possess over 250 hours of teaching experience teaching all age ranges from elementary school to undergraduate students.
I started teaching in my senior year of high school, and this job has been the most rewarding experience of my life. As a teacher, I take time to get to know the student and understand their learning style. I love using my imagination to look at the same concept from every possible angle and explain it in a way that makes sense to that specific student.
Currently, I teach AP Biology to a student, work at the Academic Assistance and Tutoring center at UC Davis, and volunteer as a Learning Assistant for an undergraduate class under a professor. I am open to teaching a range of STEM subjects including biology, chemistry, psychology, physics, and math.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I use the first session to teach a simple concept and understand their learning style. I will also try different teaching methods in order to find out what the student responds to. The following material will be taught based on the trends I have understood. I will continue to tweak my methods as I work with the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored previously and taught students one-on-one and in a classroom setting. I have worked at an afterschool care center to help students with homework and learning. I have also learned multiple study techniques through personal experience and adjusting my learning methods, understanding how to study smartly and effectively. I have been offered university-level TA jobs and have worked with professors to devise class plans.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The price includes the time it takes me to prep for the call. Therefore, I consider the subject at hand and decide the price based on how long it will take me to gather resources for the material.
