About
As a tutor, it is my duty to cater to my students' specific needs and expectations. Typically, at the beginning of a session, I set up goals with the student for what they want to focus on and accomplish during the session. Whether it's proofreading a final paper or working on English speaking skills, I work to make sure the student receives the help they need. I make sure to check-in with my student throughout the session to make sure they are following along and getting what they need. My strong passion for tutoring and my ability to cater to a diverse age of learners, from kindergarteners to university students, allows me to quickly hone in on the needs of the student and to recognize where the expectations are.
As a fourth-year undergraduate student at Loyola Marymount University double-majoring in Philosophy and Psychology, I have a vast amount of extensive writing in my academic career. The papers I write for my areas of specialty require great attention to detail and an accurate expression of ideas. This practice translates to my philosophy as a tutor. With my students, I attend carefully to each individual's needs and work closely with them on their papers and assignments. An experienced and passionate tutor, I enjoy working with students from a diverse age range with a variety of writing needs. Having worked as a Writing Tutor for Loyola Marymount University for the past year, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching my students grow through their writing. From literature reviews to resumes, I am here to provide you with the help you deserve.

How did you get started teaching?
I began my teaching journey as a virtual tutor and after-school teacher at Little Apples Learning Center during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, I led a group of kindergarteners through their online classes and monitored their progress throughout the school year. I also updated curriculum and teaching materials that suited the students' interests and needs. It was through this job that I realized the passion I have for teaching and educating students. When I returned on-campus for my third year of college, I became a Writing Tutor.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kindergarteners, 1st graders, 3rd graders, high school students, and university students.
