Lighthouse is not only a Math Center. Their instructors are well informed and extremely caring. Make sure you ask about English/Writing. You’ll be impressed with the profound quality of the course work.

My children love Dang. He encouraged and got my eldest into UCLA. Our family depend on him as our primary instructor for our 3 kids. I knew he was right for Brandon after just 15 mins of instructions.

    Frequently asked questions

The first task for me is to assess the capabilities and the weaknesses of the students. From there, I would recommend the coursework in order to specifically address the weaknesses that I aim to improve. Progress should be seen within a month and is trackable through tests and examinations.
I have a BS in applied mathematics from Ucla and a Master in International Business from USD. Teaching is a passion of mine and has enabled me to work in a self rewarding career for over a decade
Pricing depends on the subject and the preferred travel arrangement.
I've always been the 'nerd' of the school, enjoying problem solving and making friends through discussing and helping with homework.
I have experience working with students at every skill level, including those with special learning needs such as ADHD or Autism. Because every student is unique, I tailor my approach to leverage individual strengths while addressing foundational gaps. This personalized method ensures each learner can progress confidently and reach their full potential.
One event I cherish the most is the time in my life I consider my true “coming-of-age” phase. Rather than staying in my comfort zone, I decided to travel the world, live and work overseas, and immerse myself in various cultures. That journey taught me invaluable lessons in patience, responsibility, humility, and accountability. Along the way, I formed deep friendships and discovered how fulfilling it is to give my all in everything I do. This period of exploration helped me grow into the mature thinker I am today. I strive to bring that same openness and adventurous spirit into my teaching, so that I can inspire my students to embrace challenges and broaden their horizons, just as I did.
When looking for a teacher in mathematics, seek out someone who is not only highly knowledgeable but also skilled at turning complex theories and equations into relatable, real-world examples. A true educator will connect the dots between fundamental concepts, their historical roots, and why they matter in everyday life. Think of mathematics as a language: by learning its techniques and rules, you unlock the ability to see its full beauty and power. An exceptional teacher will guide you through this journey, spark your curiosity, and help you truly enjoy the process of learning.
Before meeting with a potential teacher, it’s helpful to reflect on your learning goals, style, and future aspirations. Here are some key questions to consider: 1. What are your immediate goals for the course? Identify specific objectives you’d like to achieve—whether it’s passing a certain exam, improving your grades, or gaining a deeper understanding of the material. 2. Where do you see yourself in the next 2–4 years? Think about how this course or subject might relate to your future academic or career plans. 3. How do you see this subject applying to your career or personal growth? Recognize the real-world relevance of what you’re studying. This will help you stay motivated and see value beyond the classroom. 4. Which topics or concepts do you find most challenging? Pinpointing the areas that give you trouble will help both you and your teacher develop a more targeted approach to your learning. 5. What teaching style helps you learn best? Consider if you prefer hands-on activities, visual aids, storytelling, or step-by-step explanations. A good teacher will adapt to your preferred style. 6. What type of learner are you? Reflect on whether you learn best through reading, practice problems, group discussions, or something else. Self-awareness is key to effective studying. 7. How do you measure success? Do you gauge progress by test scores, overall improvement, or your confidence in applying concepts? Clarity on this helps you and your teacher set realistic milestones. Taking a moment to explore these questions will make your conversation with any teacher more productive, ensuring you receive the personalized guidance and support you need.
