About
I am a High School Math teacher with 25 years of Class room experience and have been teaching at a community college since last four years. I have tutored students from a wide range of Math content areas, including the SAT & ACT Test Prep. I am very passionate about my job and that reflects in my interation with my students. The enthusiasm becomes contagious!
I enjoy the AHA moment when the student gets the concept and is able to relate it with the past concept, and then able to expand it to its practical application.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I take the student from known to unknown, from simple to complex. Depending on the level, I use scaffolding method to analyse that what is the area of expertise of the students and where exactly the problem starts. Then we (the student and I) attack that area.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Masters Degree in Math. I have over 25 years of teaching experience at the Middle and the High School level and 3 yesrs of teaching Math at the Community College.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My rates will be $45.00 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
As a high school student myself, I used to help my siblings with Math and then extended to the kids in my neighborhood that were 2-3 years younger to me. I loved doing that and everyone would appreciate the way I explained. This gave birth to the teacher in me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all grade levels and with varying ethnicities. I have reached to one conclusion that "All students can learn. They just need the right academic support and encouragement."
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do not judge a teacher until you have taken at least a session with him/her. Tell them what concepts you have trouble with. Ask questions if you do not quite understand something.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. Would you be able to help me with .......( the concepts you have trouble with)?
2. Have you taught this level before?
3. Besides the time spent in the tutoring session, what else should I do to enhance my knowledge in this area?
