Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically, we work a few problems together to determine what the specific subject topics are and assess any gaps in understanding. Then knowing the areas that are causing confusion or misunderstanding, I explain the specific topics to reconcile understand and to bridge the gap with the correct problem solving methods. Then the student works the problem to ensure a full understanding of the concepts and the specific methodology/procedure to correctly solve the problem. I will sometimes give study tips, and or general problem-solving hints to aid a student in understanding and completing any given problem. This is something I notice most students need.
