Subjects: Biology/AP Biology, Spanish, Mathematics/Statistics, Agricultural/Animal Science. ACT: Math and Science.
First 1 hr session free to see if you or your child likes my methods. Then, $25 an hour per student. I recognize that this may be a difficult time to pay, and if you or your child needs help and financial assistance, I am happy to work with you on a plan.
My background: 2019 Animal Science Graduate from the University of California, Davis. I graduated with Regents Scholar Distinction (the highest academic achievement any student in the entire UC system can hold, a sizeable scholarship). My major incorporated biology, biochemistry, agricultural science, statistics, math, and spanish. I am able to tutor in all of these subjects. Additionally, I am able to tutor in the math and science sections of the ACT.
I want to be a part of you or your child's success story. I enjoy helping students learn what they want to or need to learn. I find that one on one or two on one teaching attention is more effective for my learning, and I know that other students need that same help. I strongly believe that the tutoring I receivedpre-college propelled me forward, and ultimately contributed to me receiving a scholarship to my dream college.
I will start out by asking the tutee what his/her goals are and we will outline a plan to achieve those goals.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1st hour free to see if your student likes my methods. The first question I ask either to the student and the student's parent is "What is your goal?" My goal is not just to teach the student the answer to a specific homework problem, but to make sure that the student understands the underlying concept. I believe that practice is incredibly important to longterm understanding.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
B.S in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis. Graduated with Regents Scholar Distinction (the highest academic achievement award of the UCs, and a sizeable scholarship).
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First hour free. After that, $25 a student per hour. I recognize that with the coronavirus, this is a difficult time. If you or your child needs tutoring but are worried about the price, please talk to me and we can work out something.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Pick someone who helps you learn and helps you think, not someone who just gives you the answers. Both STEM and Languages are heavily built on concepts, not just facts.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Think about a goal, do you want an A in the class? Do you need to pass this test? Do you need a certains score on your ACT? If there is no clear goal, it will be difficult to come up with a tangible action plan.
