Alexia Art And Comic Tutoring
About
Let's get your ideas out of your head and into the world! My favorite part about tutoring is seeing what ideas my students come up with. The creativity that comes from different perspectives can really create something incredibly unique.
I have been drawing comics since I was six years old and now I work as a storyboard artist for independent animation studios. My character work has been featured on Comedy Central, and I am a prize winner portrait artist.
I have been teaching since 2016 in art studios and with private clients, and I never plan to stop! Working with others on creative projects is a dream job.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to take some time getting to know my students skills, desires and personality so I can create a specific curriculum made just for you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in three different art studios, Pasadena and San Diego, for the past 6 years. I have taken what I like from each student, studio and learning experience and developed my own method of teaching art. We can start from the very beginning, learning beginner methods of drawing. Or we can create a complex portfolio for your career/pleasure.
Together we can learn:
Drawing, Still Life, Chalk Pastel, Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Digital Art, Comic Books, Graphic Novels, and Multi-Media Artwork.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$70/hr - if you desire group sessions or parties that can be discussed.
How did you get started teaching?
I've always wanted to live a creative life, and teaching in the arts allows me to do just that. I got started in a studio in Pasadena, trained for months on how to teach their specific curriculum, and thrown into the beautiful chaos of the art classroom for the next three years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from age 3.5 years old to 82 years old at all skill levels. I have also worked with students who have special mental and physical needs.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recently I gave my students the topic of creating their own Halloween monster, but their monster had to be made out of pumpkins! It was fun helping them come up with ideas and figure out how to execute them.
