About

I have worked with students of all ages from Transitional Kindergarten to adults. I also work with general education students and students with special needs. My three years teaching overseas consisted of working with Kindergarten and First grade. My teaching practicum during my Master's program was conducted with adult students learning English. Currently I am working as a Substitute Teacher in multiple district while I complete my educational teaching programs.

What I enjoy most about working with students is knowing that I can make a difference in someone's life. No matter how big or small that may be, all that matter's is that I can help my student's with learing something new everyday. The best part about teaching is creating connections with students' to make learning fun and enjoyable.

Frequently asked questions

First, I would need to get to know my student's strengths and weaknesses. Finding out my student's interest is very important with learning because I will try to connect learning with what they enjoy to make learning fun. Getting to know my student not only helps me as a tutor to connect with my student but it also creates a comfort level for the student to work with me.

I have my B.A. in Liberal Studies from California State University of Los Angeles and completed my multiple subject credential program from CSULA. Currently I am working on my portfolio on the TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program to complete my Masters from Azusa Pacific University.

I have worked with students in a one to one setting, small group and whole class setting.

I have worked with students for about 10 years.  I started working with pre-school aged students for two years, then moved onto working with students in elementary for another three years, which led me to working as a one to one inclusion instructional aide for another 3 years. After completing my multiple subject credential program I decided to teach overseas for another 3 years.  When I returned to California I started my Master's Program in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Currently I am subbing while I work on my Master's Portfolio to complete the program.

-Preschool/Transitional Kindergarten

-Kindergarten through 12th grade

-Students with speical needs (pre-school to adult students)

-Adult students (learning English)

The most recent event was when a student that was having trouble during a writing assignment and when I was able to help her she gave me a hug afterwards to show her appreciation. It is the little things like this moment that make teaching worth it.
