About
About me: I am a student at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles). I have 3 years of experience in English tutoring. I have received a 800 (perfect score) in SAT English and Writing and I have received a 5 (a perfect score) in AP English Language and Composition which is college-level English.
I am eager to help students who need extra help in reading, writing, and grammar skills. I plan to assess the student's weaknesses and strengths in order to target specific skills. I had to learn English after I moved to the United States so I understand the struggle of learning English as a second language.
English is the language of the world and it has the incredible ability to connect people from entirely different backgrounds. I truly believe that there is so much to discover when learning English whether you are a new learner or whether you already speak it and you are passionate to discover more. It can be a frustrating process, but I will be there with you every step of the way. I truly believe that patience is key and I more than willing to support you in your journey. Thank you for considering me!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, the most important thing to me is to understand their comfort level with the language itself and what they are interested in improving and learning. I will spend time with you to understand exactly what you want to learn during our sessions. Even if you do not have a clear picture, I will guide you along the way. I will provide a test in order to determine your skills and weak points. In each tutoring session, I will work on one facet of English such as literature, grammar, or writing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge 25 dollars per hour as a standard rate. However, I believe that my price should fit the needs and the pace of the students themselves. Please reach out to me as I am willing to change the price if the situation calls for it.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring as a volunteer at my high school. I love seeing the spark in my student's eyes as they understand something that frustrated them before. It is the most rewarding thing for me. I truly believe that anyone can learn English and I hope to help as many people as I can.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with many different students from adults to elementary through high school students. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all method so I tailor my tutoring for the specific student.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell the student to look for a teacher who is willing to be patient yet simultaneously challenges them and pushes them out of their comfort zone. Learning a language is a difficult process as language is extremely nuanced and is constantly changing. However, with the right teacher, there is much to discover. There is no one-way-fits-all method to learning English, so please choose a teacher that is willing to customize and work for you specficially.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Please consider the following questions:
1. What specific skills I am looking to improve upon? (i.e. reading, writing, grammar)
2. How will my English be used in my daily life? Am I using it for school, for work, or for my own enjoyment?
3. How should I prepare for each session?
