About
Hi, My name is Rabeya and I'm here to help you out with your biology/science courses at school. Why me? Well I'm an MD and currently a research associate at harbor UCLA, I graduated my medical school in 2016 and then taught medical students at my school for about 2 years. I have the experience and knowledge to make sure you end up loving science as much as I do.
I was and plan on being a very interactive teacher. I don't believe in rote learning but instead understanding concepts and try to engage students throughout my classes. I'm very friendly as well and love sharing a good student teacher bond making sure my students aren't scared to ask me questions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I believe in an interactive approach making sure the student remains engaged and interested throughout the class. I also keep quizzing during lectures to make sure the student has memorized or learnt atleast a part of their lesson before the class ends, this approach has worked well in the past for me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated medical school in 2016 and then went on to teaching M3s for about 2 years. My teaching experience has been the most valuable in this regard. Apart from that I've also done internships at Harvard and Yale during medical school as well as working as a researcher at harbor UCLA , being under constant mentorship by great professors I have definitely gained a lot of skills which I want to use and pay it forward
How did you get started teaching?
After graduating from medical school I was offered the position of a lecturer by the head of the department of forensic medicine and toxicology at my medical school. That has been my first professional teaching experience
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly medical students or high school students
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Focus on learning concepts and not just memorizing , this advice comes from experience especially if you want to pursue medicine or any related field. Concepts go a long way and will define the kind of professional you will be in the future.
