What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to set aside a few minutes to get to know the student on a more personal level to ensure maximum student comfort, which ultimately helps in the tutoring process. From there, I like getting into the actual business of everything and asking the student what he/she believes he/she needs the most help with. From there I run through the material the student should be comfortable with and assess their strengths and weaknesses. Lastly, I address their weaknesses and help them understand any material they find difficult.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I worked for a summer program at CORE academy where I helped students with accelerated math programs, private tutored in SAT, and also led a 10-week course on intro coding for younger students.
