About

I am a recent graduate from Parsons School of Design, one of the world's leading art and design schools. While quarantined at home in California, I thought it would be a great use of my time to help students with end of semester work. I would also be more than happy to help anybody else looking to pick up a new skill during this downtime! The reason I stand out compared to other tutors is that I am acutely aware of the most recent teaching styles and expected skills at a renowned university.

I am capable of teaching anywhere from beginner to advanced in Photography, Graphic Design (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), video/film editing on Premiere, foundational 3D modeling on Maya, basics of Art Theory and philosophy's contributions to Fine Arts, and more. I would be a fantastic resource for AP Studio Art as I received an A+ in the class as well as a 5 on the AP exam.

Feel free to view my freelance work on my Instagram, @maaxx.x or my website at www.maxhanuschak.co

It is what I've spent so long becoming skilled at and it has never felt like work to me. Photoshop, for example, is like an extension of my hands. I can accomplish most things adjacent to editing without thinking about it now. I have always loved photography, art, film, and design and couldn't imagine a better subject to teach.

Frequently asked questions

Depending on the expected learning outcomes, I am able to pick up where the student's skill level is, or create a beginners course to cover all fundamental basics for the program or subject.  I will have practice images, files, etc. that the students may practice with, and will encourage the creation of their own work soon after beginning so they can see concrete progress.

I have a BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Film Production from Parsons School of Design, as well as a completed Summer study intensive at Rhode Island School of Design.  I have worked in freelance for multiple years and can provide tips on doing well in classes as well as moving forward to apply for colleges and get your name out to clients.

Since this is in the midst of quarantine, my online screen sharing lessons will be down from $65 to $40 per hour, but please message me if there are budget restraints and perhaps we can work something out.  I would be willing to do an hour and a half for $55, and two hours for $70. and would be happy to accommodate extra students at $10 extra per person. (Keep in mind, though, that the more people there are the less personal of an experience it is.) I would also be happy to communicate via email and answer questions in between sessions, just as a teacher would.

I began tutoring people in college that needed to know Adobe Suite and photography skills, as I was at a slightly more advanced level entering college. From there, I felt that I was able to satisfy everybody's requests and questions quickly and I began to look more into tutoring.

High School and College, as well as people looking to learn new skills.  I would be happy to teach to anybody younger who is looking to learn new skills early as well, I just haven't yet!

I am fond of late nights where a friend will call me in a panic to finish an assignment for work or school and I am able to help them quickly.  Their relief and happiness is always incredibly rewarding!

Make sure that they are confident that they can make good use of your time in the exact areas you are eager to learn.  The more detail you provide to the tutor, the more precisely laid out lesson they can have ready for you.

Think about what would benefit you best in the time restraints, and try to know exactly what you are asking so your teacher can give you a satisfactory answer.  The second part is less important because I would be happy to bounce ideas off of the student if they are only able to give me a gist of what they want.
