As mentioned, my company strives to provide affordable education and at the same time decent wages for foreign teachers. Prices are considerably lower than other tutors because our tutors are expats living in foreign countries, or foreigners with advanced English.
How did you get started teaching?
After excelling at a philosophy course in my first year of college, I became the youngest University T.A. the University had had at the time. I began having a passion for education, and found that it came very naturally for me and was always extremely rewarding.
What types of students have you worked with?
Pre-k (montessori), teacher in junior high and high school, University Math and Psychology professor.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The virtual meeting with tutors from different countries (South Africa, Ireland, Turkey, Pakistan,Ecuador) to discuss curriculum and virtual tools.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the teacher not only knows the subject, but understands how to teach it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. What is my goal?
2. How much time can I dedicate to learning a topic each week?
3. Do I mind receiving instruction from a foreigner, or do I identify more with someone from the US?
