Hi! I’m Cooper Tenney. I grew up in Marin and graduated from Branson high school in 2024 with a 4.0 GPA. I’m now in college at Stanford University. I currently have a 3.92 GPA and was recently nominated to be a peer tutor at Stanford based on my academic record and past experience helping students. I’ve worked with middle and high schoolers on everything from geometry and algebra to SAT prep and college applications. I scored a 1570 on the SAT myself, and I am excited to help students reach their full potential.

I’m retired from teaching college for twenty-two years and then thirteen years of teaching homeless adults and people re-entering society from prison. I listen to students’ ideas, concerns, and complaints and take students’ seriously. We also have fun. My pedagogical methods (teaching style) are based on what each student needs.

I am a graduate of UC Berkeley and credentialed K-12 teacher with years of experience teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students. I love working with students to discover their talents and leverage those to help them grow and achieve their goals! I am experienced in research-based methods and best practices for supporting students with exceptionalities (learning disability, ADHD, dyslexia, Autism, Gifted/Talented) in small group and individual settings.
