I offer private, 1-on-1 help to students between the levels of 3rd to 12th grade in almost any subject, especially Math, Science, and English. I also offer essay consultations and personalized study sessions based on your student's needs. I believe that it is vital given the current COVID-19 situation that students are able to access outside resources to help them understand and retain information better so their education is not derailed by shifts to online school.
It's that a-ha moment that a student gets when they finally understand something! I totally understand what it's like to be completely lost while learning something and how demoralizing it can feel. When I work with a student and they can go from being clueless about how to approach a problem to being able to solve it all on their own is the priceless gift of knowledge that I want to be able to give to as many people as possible. :)

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I will ask them what specifically confuses them, and if they are not sure then I'll walk through a problem with them and see where their misunderstanding lies. Once we find it, I'll help them clear it up by guiding them through the problem to the point where they are confident in doing it themself. Learning should be enjoyable and by assisting a student and having them come to the conclusion on their own rather than simply showing them, the interactive process increases understanding as opposed to memorization and allows them to recall these skills in a testing situation :)
