Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important to understand what problems the student is struggling with, and determining what gaps in knowledge contribute to this. By properly finding deficiencies, I am able to quickly improve the student's performance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have maintained a 3.8 GPA at UCLA taking classes like Probability Theory, Linear Algebra, Machine Learning, Multivariable Calculus, Data Analysis, Algorithms, and Computer Programming. In high school, I received 5s on the AP exams for BC Calculus and Statistics.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $30 per hr - this time can be used to guide students through solutions to problems, explain a topic, or give college advice.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with peers in my college courses, teammates on the UCLA Track and Field team, and high school students studying Calculus.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who has gotten good results in your desired area, and is able to walk you through how to reach that level. This requires exceptional communication skills, tact, and deep understanding of relevant material.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I know, and how can I use it? What don't I know, and how can I understand it?
