About
I am a Cal Poly Mechanical Engineer graduate looking to spread the passion of math and science to students and encourage STEM degrees. I have several years of experience working with students ranging from first grade to graduate level on math and science courses as well as several years of as a gymnastics instructor under my belt. I understand a large number of students may dislike math or science subjects and like the approach them in a fun, easy to understand way.
I enjoy catering my lessons to the student and figuring out the type of language that sticks with them well and seeing student growth over the course of several sessions.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I start with an evaluation on the subject of interest to determine both their strong suits and weaknesses and cater my lesson plans towards improving the weaknesses.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an engineering degree which gives me a strong understanding of the math and science courses I tutor and have many years of experience tutoring my peers and running study workshops in college.
How did you get started teaching?
I have always been known to help out my peers throughout grade school and have turned it into a hobby and career post graduation.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ages from 1st grade through graduate level and have assisted those with ADHD and dyslexia.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It may take time and patience to find the right tutor who messes with your learning style but, don't give up!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Why are you not where you want to be at in school? Test anxiety? Not understanding your current teachers learning style? If we can pin point the exact problem that may be hindering you I can make sure to target that during the tutoring sessions.
