Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first administer an evaluation test dependent on the subject to see which skill sets the student is proficient at. I will then develop a specialized tutoring program comprised of lecture, note-taking, quizzes and review. If the student needs help with the college application process, I will help market that student to their top schools by brainstorming with them and then editing their essays/college application. This is done according to the school they are applying to in order to maximize their chances of admission.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a current senior at Centennial High School and was named Valedictorian of my senior class for having the highest GPA out of 850 students. I have a 4.92 and a 99th percentile SAT score. I have taken numerous AP and IB courses and have passed all of the exams with top marks. I was admitted to 6 out of the 6 universities I applied to, including Stanford, UCLA, USC, UC Berkeley, UCI and UCSD
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge based on the hour. However, I do charge higher rates for college application/college preparation tutoring. This includes SAT, ACT, and essay editing.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring during my freshman year in high school as a member of the peer tutoring program at my school. I tutored kids from 3rd grade up to 9th grade in math, history, and science.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students with learning disabilities as well as students with speech impairments. I enjoy working with students who are willing to learn and put in the work to reach their goals.
