KD Art Tutoring
About
I teach Afterschool Art throughout Claremont and Pomona for ages 5-18! I encourage my students to improve their techniques while emphasizing the importance of imagination exercises and the therapeutic nature of artistic practice.
What makes my work enjoyable is seeing students grow and explore their creativity in new ways. I'm always happy to form a lesson that is inclusive toward a student's individual interests.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's important to get a feel for a student's interests when I first begin to work with them- each student learns differently and I love to encourage them to pursue their passions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since finishing school, I have been running workshops for a local art center and visiting various elementary schools to teach art lessons. My education has influenced my teaching style- due to studio art classes I am able to teach technique and share experience, and classes in psychology have influenced how I view and teach art as an exploration of emotion and identity.
How did you get started teaching?
I volunteered at an art education program in high school and came back to the program to work as a mentor after graduating college.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages 5-18.
