About this tutor

Hola! I'm new to this online platform but I have great reviews on my website, Google, and Instagram page!

My tutoring journey began in 2012 and I continued to tutor my regular students as a side-hustle until 2022 when I decided to make tutoring my full-time business.

Due to my 10 years of experience working as a private tutor, I am knowledgeable in various academic subjects such as Spanish, math, and science.

Fun fact about me, I have a BS in Environmental Geology and worked 4 years for an engineering consulting company (Wood Environment & Infrastructure). I also studied climate change at the Universidad de Alcala, Spain.

My passion for education, personal development, and vision of promoting life-scaling skills for young ladies led me to become a tutor and a mentor.

Seeing the transformation is the best part of my job! I help my students take control of their learning by also using life coaching techniques to unlock their potential in a profound and meaningful way. Also, I like teaching my students how to learn and once their grades improve, I can spend some time mentoring and coaching them if necessary.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

First I ask my potential new clients to fill out the contact form to get a better idea of what their needs are. I also send you my list of services and price guide which includes a variety of packages for you to chose from! And great discounts for new clients!

Then, I schedule with them a FREE tutoring lesson in which I answer any questions that they might have, I explain how I can help and use the remaining time to tutor the student.

This is a great opportunity for both of us to find out if we are a good match for each other and for you to see the quality of my work!

Once we confirm that I am your ideal tutor and you are my ideal student, I will send you a link to schedule any upcoming lessons. Please consider that I only accept students who are willing to commit to at least one lesson per week.

To keep track of monthly progress, I give parents and students a detailed report of the time spent with the student and a brief account of each session. This allows both the student and the parent to keep track of the progress.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am bilingual (Spanish native speaker) and have a bachelor's degree in Environmental Geology. I started my tutoring journey in 2012 and have helped students with different subjects such as Spanish, mathematics, and science. When I graduated from SDSU I worked for an environmental engineering company for 4 years and continued to tutor as a side hustle. Now I am only a tutor and mentor focused on helping my students reach their personal and academic goals.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My prices vary from $35-65 per hour, it depends on the grade, subject, location, and package that you select. It also depends if it's 1:1 or group sessions.

How did you get started teaching?

First I started tutoring to make an income while I was in the pursuit of getting my bachelor's degree. But after spending time with my students I realized that I LOVED teaching and seeing their transformations. I also love working with teen girls because I can connect with them more. Most of my students have been with me since they were in middle school, now most of them are in high school or University. But I've had the opportunity to see them grow up and guide them through their journey to become beautiful and strong women. This is priceless for me...

What types of students have you worked with?

I have experience tutoring students in elementary, middle school, and high school. Right now I mostly focus on tutoring young ladies ages 14 and above.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Schools primarily focus on preparing students for a career, but they don’t teach girls the skills necessary to prepare for womanhood or become successful in life. There is more to life than studying only academic subjects!

From my perspective, students should also learn the skills to help them succeed in life regardless of their careers, such as healthy habits, personal finance, emotional intelligence, and leadership.

For that reason, I recently included mentoring and teen life coaching in my service list. This is a new phase in my business that truly brings me joy and I am looking forward to being able to help students achieve both their personal and academic goals.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The purpose of tutoring is to ensure that students are up to date on one or more subjects they may have fallen behind. I recommend that the student looks for a tutor that helps the student define concrete and achievable objectives in the short and long term.

A good tutor should be able to wear many hats and act as a tutor, motivator, friend, and source of inspiration for the student.

Even if the student is not experiencing any specific difficulties, a good tutor should also be able to teach them more complex notions than those seen in class and prepare the student for what they will encounter in the near future.
