English Tutoring -- Reading, Writing, Editing, Proofreading, Feedback
About
I have had a long-standing love affair with language and literature, which has served me well in my years as a teacher and as an editor. I have two university degrees, a B.A. in French and an M.A. in English. I would like to use my knowledge and experience to help you with the complexities and intricacies of this exquisite language we call English.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first step is to get to know the strengths and weaknesses of my students. Then I move on to the assignment or task: requirements, expectations, deadlines. Next, I establish steps that will move students forward in their work. After that, I get to work helping my students.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught all grades from preschool to the university level (with the exception of high school). I have also worked professionally as an editor.
How did you get started teaching?
I was inspired by my own teachers in high school. They were phenomenal.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have taught mostly in the U.S., with one brief adventure in tutoring while I lived in Paris. I have taught all kinds of students, from preschool through university level, with many different backgrounds and language proficiencies.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Does the teacher help you to feel not only comfortable in the learning space, but also capable in your studies? Do you feel more able to tackle future assignments?
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have considered the expectations and requirements of the assignment, what steps they need to take to complete the assignment, and where they may need help in accomplishing that task.
