About
I am an experiences English teacher who believes in a student centered approach to learning that focuses on what each individual needs! I think that building relationships leads to real learning that lasts.
I have been teaching English for the past 6 years! I am passionate about ELA curriculum and am a creative and hard working person with a variety of diverse experiences. During my years in the classroom, I wrote my own English curriculum and assessments using the International Baccalaureate and PA state standards to guide me. I monitored my success using data from the STAR reading tests. In my classroom, students increased by over a year’s reading level on average.
As a language arts teacher with a Master’s in secondary education, I am confident in my ability to help anyone, no matter where they are starting! I have strong language and communication skills, as well as a deep knowledge of best practices in teaching ELA.
