What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first become acquainted with the student so that I can build a personalized plan that caters to the student's specific needs. I like to understand the student's strengths and utilize them in achieving the overarching goal that the student/parent wants to achieve.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've received A and A+ grades in all the subjects that I wish to tutor. Additionally, I have hundreds of hours of tutoring experience in related subjects.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, tutoring in a non-profit to provide academic services to supplement traditional schooling.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of various demographics across the K-8 grade levels.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I'd have them read the tutor's bio, and really consider the compatibility between the tutor and student.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should have a clear idea of their needs, as well as a general goal of what they wish to achieve from the sessions.
