Math Tutoring From A Future Math Teacher!
About
My name is Maddy, and I'm currently attending CSUCI as a math major. I'm in the 3rd year (having taken classes up to Calc 3, Linear Algebra, and many others) and plan on getting my teaching credentials ASAP. I love to teach, and am willing to teach anyone and everyone, including group and private sessions. I am available most days and most hours (even late at night or early morning) by email, phone calls, Discord, or text messaging.
I specialize in teaching those who may struggle with math, but I am capable of tutoring all ages and all ability ranges. I also like to teach mathematics that sticks, is fun, and actually useful and applicable. This can include learning some math history, if so desired.
I love to teach, and I love math! I like to make sure math is understood, interesting, and useful. I prefer not to have my students memorize equations, but rather to have even a basic understanding of what it all means and why it is even worth learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students I like to first look over any materials they may have (notes, handouts, textbooks) privately or with the student. I then like to get a feel for what level of understanding they are at, and work within their ability and what works for them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Being bad at math all through k-12 and college makes you very good at understanding where people get caught up on concepts. I am not someone who is naturally good at math, and have always struggled. I can use what methods and practices I have learned for myself to help you and other students.
