I served as an elementary school teacher for 8 years and have 6 years of experience as an academic tutor. In these roles, I have worked with struggling students, and those with learning challenges such as Dyslexia. I specialize in reading intervention, and utilize cognitive educational therapy techniques to address learning challenges. I can also help with creating organizational systems to keep students on track during COVID virtual learning. Tutoring is available to students in grades Kindergarten through 6th.
I enjoy the entire learning process, but most of all, I am truly excited when my students demonstrate progress in areas where they struggle. I love watching my students grow in self-confidence and take pride in their work.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Sessions are scheduled via e-mail. I start out by assessing the child's academic and cognitive skills. Then based on the results, we create goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Classroom teaching in grades K-6, cognitive educational therapy in grades K-6, one-on-one and group tutoring in grades K-12. Tutoring in Reading, Writing, and homework help.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard price is $30 per hour. Sessions are 1 hour, 1 1/2 hours, or 2 hours in length. In order to attain optimal success, there is a minimum of 3 hours per week. Initial assessment session is 1 hour. Payment is due at time of service.
What types of students have you worked with?
Gifted and Talented, English as a Second Language, various forms of Dyslexia and other learning challenges, behavior intervention, non-readers.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Seeing the joy and pride on the face of one of my students when he passed his test with a 100% score.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I really think relationship rapport is the most important aspect.
