About
I've been a tutor since 2006 and have loved every moment; to enrich students with knowledge and/or to solve problems have always been priceless rewards. I began tutoring as a volunteer for non-profit against cancer organizations and for high-risk neighborhood high schools, I continue to volunteer as a tutor at the Ronald McDonald House of Los Angeles.
I have a BA in Psychology from UCLA and a MA in Forensic Psychology from John Jay CUNY. I'm a therapist and mainly work with children. I incorporate all my psychological skills into my tutoring sessions as every student is different and has specific needs. I have extensive experience teaching students diagnosed with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, and OCD.
Part of my tutoring services include study skills, test-prep strategies (e. g. G&T, Hunter test, ISEE/SSAT, SAT, ACT, TACHS), and many subjects such as Math (Algebra I & II, Geometry), Reading Comprehension, Writing, Social Studies, Psychology, and more. I work with one-on-one sessions as well as groups. I also work as an class tutor and test-prep instructor.
I've tutored over hundreds of students over the years, from pre-k to college level, and they have all become part of my heart and of the passion that I put into every one of my sessions. To be able to help an student succeed over an obstacle is very gratifying. I feel honored when I'm given the opportunity to help a student feel better with their academic performance as it also helps them to view themselves positively and to have the motivation to accomplish more.
