How did you get started teaching?
In college, as part of the requirements for my BA in English, I had to tutor small groups of freshman students who were struggling in their English composition classes. I realized that I really enjoyed working with students, thought I didn't plan back then on becoming a teacher. I started teaching ESL right after graduate school, first as a student teacher in South Carolina and then overseas. I have been teaching ESL to people of all ages since 1998. I hold a credential in adult education from the state of California, and am two-thirds of the way done with getting my credential in multiple subjects to teach elementary school in California.
