About
Hello! I am an Italian university student at UC Berkeley. As I have been in contact with English since I was six months old, when an au pair came to spend a year with me, I am well aware of the role that this language has played throughout my life. I have been teaching English for two years in Italy, France and Brazil to people of different ages and levels, thus I am able to offer customized classes to my students according to their needs and preferences. Although I prioritize grammar consolidation, the pillar without which no language can be mastered, it only serves as the basis for interactive exercises in which we will talk, write and listen about cultural traditions, cuisine, arts, literature, music and movies among others. Sometimes we may even learn English by laughing!
I enjoy being in contact with people coming from all over the world as it brings me joy to empower my students to become cosmopolitan citizens who are capable of immersing themselves in other cultures through the master key that English provides them with.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Firstly, I usually ask them what their goal is (e.g: IELTS preparation, conversation, traveling, university admission). Then I customize my classes to suit their needs and interests, while making sure that their grammar is / becomes solid.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer the first 30-minutes class for every new student. Then I charge 20 dollars per one-hour class. For the students interested 10-classes-pack, I charge 18 dollars per class.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching English as a part-time job two years ago, at the beginning of my university studies in political sciences at SciencesPo Paris. I tutored and taught for two years in France and I then continued teaching English in Brazil as a volunteer tutor for disadvantages kids and in Italy I helped high school students in need of English tutoring.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages with a beginner/ intermediate level of English. Working with disadvantages kids has taught me that always cheering up my students makes a huge difference in terms of linguistic improvement and self-esteem, which is why I have embraced this attitude as my “teaching philosophy”.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
My tip to students would be to make an effort to internalize the need that they wish to satisfy through the learning of a new language. For example, even if your aim is to pass an English exam to get into an American university, learning it can become much more enjoyable when you associate it with something that passionates you, such as being able to read a poem or watch a movie in its original version.
