About
As for my background, I hold a B.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA, graduating with Department honors, Magna Cum Laude distinction, and Hosmer Award for Chemistry with a 3.91 GPA. I am currently a J.D. candidate at Columbia University in New York.
I have about 4 years experience tutoring organic chemistry, general chemistry, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, life sciences, and SAT /ACT/GRE in general. I was the Head Pedagogy Learning Assistant at UCLA for organic chemistry I-III, working closely with the professor to lead review sessions and create problem sets for the class. During this time, I have taught/tutored chemistry using active learning, active recall, and student-involved problem solving methods. I am a patient and experienced as a tutor, so I am happy to work one on one with you as a student, no matter your background or skill level. I am open to tutoring students from the middle school level to the college level for those who are pursuing their bachelors in a STEM field.
A typical lesson plan would be that we would go over the class material that the student is struggling with, so that I can gauge the student's strengths and weaknesses in the class. Then, subsequently, I would suggest a study plan and give additional practice material for the student to do independently after in-depth 1 to 1 instruction. I am open to any constructive criticism about my lessons or teaching methods.
