Hello! my name is Samantha Dorr, and I love learning about and teaching biology. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biology at Northern Arizona University. Most of my studies focused on zoology and fish & wildlife management. I taught second semester biology labs at NAU for two years, and taught biology, anatomy, and microbiology at gila community college for four years. I love biology, and I love helping students learn about the world around them!

Sam is an excellent teacher. She will take the time to explain things to you and if you do not understand she will find another way to explain it to make something more clear. She will apply topics to real life which makes it easier to learn. I recommend Sam professionally, she is tremendous at what she does and will make you a better student and person guaranteed.

Sam was a wonderful teacher for my BIO182 lab! She was always so passionate and enthusiastic about science when she taught me, and encouraged us students to ask questions, no matter how crude they may have been (the mating rituals of the flatworm come to mind!). She treated us with respect and never condescended to us, and never acted like she had all the answers - if she didnt know the answer to your question, it was no big deal, and you would find out the answer together instead! That said, most of the time, she did have the answers. ;)
I loved my BIO182L, and its all because of Sam. Shes funny, friendly, not at all intimidating (as many teachers can sadly be), and truly, shes a great teacher. Her enthusiasm is so contagious, and it definitely helps with retaining information.
You wont be disappointed if you choose Sam as your tutor!
