I am passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their goals. I have been teaching courses at the college level since 2014. I am a PhD candidate at the University of Arizona with expertise in biology, ecology, biogeochemistry, statistics, and agricultural science. I've taught an array of classes from biochemistry, introduction to environmental science, biology, and hydrology. As an educator, my goal is to facilitate educational experiences that further develop critical thinking, communication, and reflection to support students' academic and professional ambitions.
I am patient, trustworthy, and genuinely enjoy teaching and connecting with students. I am passionate about helping students to achieve their goals.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My goal when working with a new student is to develop a rapport. I feel it is important to instill confidence before any learning begins. I undertsand that learning new or difficult concepts is a challenge for anyone and that this challenge can be overcome. I like to meet with students and/or parent(s) beforehand to develop a specialized plan of action. Students create a detailed description of their current situation and their desired results. Next, we will come up with a set of goals and how to implement the plan of action appropriately in order to accomplish said results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a published research scientist and I teach courses at the University of Arizona.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching as part of my graduate program.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work in K-12 education and mentorship and have primarily taught courses at the college level. I conduct educational outreach activities with younger students. I am open to tutoring students at all levels.
