I felt it was a calling, I was always helping my younger siblings. So I decided I’d like to learn how to teach professionally. I excelled in math so it was a natural major to earn.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of students with various skill levels. I always find out what level they are at and teach accordingly.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was invited to a sports event by two of my tutoring kiddos. Their skill was amazing and I was introduced to their other teacher.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone you like and think you’ll get along with. You’ve got to feel comfortable with them so you can work side by side.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
In math, it’s all about where you were stuck. The problem must have been attempted first so you can determine what you don’t know. If you are at a loss where to start that’s what you should state.
